How to play Pokemon games on Android
Many gamers are wondering how they can play the very popular game Pokemon on their Android devices, but sadly, it is not available for download in the Google Play Store. But don’t give up yet! There is a way! And we will show you how to do it!
STEP 1: Choose the game and determine the Emulator you will need
First, decide which Pokemon game you want to play and determine which emulator you will need. An Emulator is a software that will let you play games on you Android device that are specifically created for other devices such as Gameboy, Nintendo DS and others.
Check below to determine the Emulator that you will be needing:
– For Pokemon Red, Blue, Green, Yellow: You will need the Original Gameboy or Gameboy Color emulator.
– For Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, FireRed, LeafGreen: You will need the Gameboy Advance emulator.
– For Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, HeartGold, SoulSilver, Black, White, Black 2, White 2: You will need the Nintendo DS emulator.
STEP 2: Download and install an Emulator
Now that you know which kind of Emulator you will need, it’s time to download it. From your Android device, open the Play Store and search for the kind of Emulator that you need (Gameboy Emulator, GBA Emulator or NDS Emulator). Most of the emulators are free, so just download and install it.
STEP 3: Choose and download a Pokemon game ROM
ROMs are the actual games, so you need to download it to your device to play the Pokemon game. To do that, go to a website that offers ROM downloads. A good example of such website is www.coolrom.com. Just go to that site now using your Android device and then tap the “ROM Files” and choose whether the ROM file you are looking for is a GB, GBA or NDS game.
You now have an option to browse the ROM games alphabetically, genre or see the Top 25 downloaded ROMS. Pokemon ROMS are ALWAYS in the Top 25, so just tap that tab and choose the specific Pokemon game you want. After choosing it, scroll down and hit the “Download Now” tab.
It is a good idea to store all your ROMs in one folder so you can find them easily whenever you want to play them.
STEP 4: Playing your Pokemon game
Now that you have an Emulator and a Pokemon Rom, it is finally time for you to play your Pokemon game on your Android device! To do that, just open the Emulator that you previously installed and then load the game by going to the folder where you saved the Pokemon ROM (usually in Download folder) and tap on it. Now you can start playing your very own Pokemon game on your Android device. Enjoy!
