Pokemon Dark Rising 2 Cheats for GBA4iOS

The last time I wrote about Pokemon Dark Rising, I related how challenging the game was considering there weren’t many cheats that worked on it. In terms of story and gameplay though, that game was arguably one of the best homebrews that I’ve ever played (and trust me, I’ve played through a lot). Additionally, in that same article, I also wrote that Pokemon Dark Rising was just the first in a series of homebrew Pokemon games made by DarkRisingGirl. Just a couple of days ago I tried out Pokemon Dark Rising 2, which as the name implies is the second game in the series.

Like any Pokemon game I boot up on GBA4iOS, I always try to see what type of cheats work on them. As much as I’d like to play through a whole Pokemon game without having to rely on cheats, it just becomes too tiring to grind at some point. With this in mind, I’ve prepared a little something for people like me who want to breeze through all the random encounters and grinding and finish up the whole story. Of course it should be noted that these cheats will work on any emulator regardless of the platform (yes, you can use these for Android GBA emulators as well!).

You can use Pokemon Fire Red cheats on Pokemon Dark Rising 2 Cheats for GBA4iOS (or on any other GBA emulator). But what cheats should you load up though? If you’ve been reading my Pokemon cheats write-ups here on PhoneResolve, you’ll probably know that there are a couple of cheats that I’ll always recommend that you turn on.

Cheats To Get You Started

If you’ve ever played Pokemon Dark Rising, then you’ll find the cheats that I’m going to list down here familiar.

Unlimited Money

Although it’s quite long, I can’t stress the importance of the unlimited/infinite money cheat enough on any Pokemon article I write. This is the only cheat that comes close to letting you enjoy Pokemon Dark Rising 2 as it was meant to be played. An advise that you might want to take into consideration when playing the game using this cheat is to never enable it while another cheat is activate (or vice versa). Although Pokemon Dark Rising 2 isn’t as buggy as the first game, it’ll be better for you to err on the side of caution.

Enable Cheap Items Code

This code will drastically reduce the cost of items to P1. You can also limit the item that you want to lower the cost of purchase by appending its specific code in addition to this Cheap Items Code. For now there are really only two items that you’ll want to get for cheap and these are Master Balls and Rare Candies. It’s even possible to not have unlimited money enabled if all items only cost P1.

Walk Through Walls

Walking through walls will not only save you time but a lot of effort as well. This will be particularly helpful when you’re in caves or areas that have plenty grass and you don’t want to avoid random encounters.

Pokemon Encounter Codes

You’ll also want a good team of Pokemon to go up against Darugis, the Pokemon causing havoc in Pokemon Dark Rising. Here are some great Pokemon that you might want to consider adding to your team. Note that some of the Pokemon you’ll encounter in the game are not originally from Fire Red and are from later generations (which is actually cool).

An Important Reminder!!

Make sure to use your Master Balls immediately to catch these Pokemon using your Master Balls when you encounter them. Together with Salamance (my suggested starter Pokemon), these will make beating all the bosses (including Darugis) easier.

You might be familiar with these codes from the previous Pokemon Dark Rising article I made. I actually re-used the same cheats because as I explained earlier, both of these hacks’ Parent ROM is Pokemon Fire Red. Unlike my previous article regarding the first game in this series, I only listed down 5 Pokemon encounter cheats. The reason for this is that your starters are actually quite powerful so there’s really no need to go for more than 5.

If you’re not a fan of these Pokemon then feel free to use the Pokemon encounter codes from Fire Red to form your team. However, take note that the codes might result in different Pokemon than what you’d normally encounter in Fire Red.
