Pokemon Shiny Gold (hack) Cheat Codes for GBA4iOS

If you’ve been following the site lately, you’ll realize that I’m currently into playing ROM hacks. The latest that I’ve played might seem familiar to players who grew up on the Pokemon Games for the Gameboy and Gameboy Color.

Pokemon Shiny Gold is an unofficial remake of Pokemon Gold made by a team headed by Zel. Now, I wouldn’t say that Pokemon Gold was my favorite game in the series but I was nevertheless intrigued at how the game would have played on the GBA.

Essentially the game is just a re-skinned version of Pokemon Fire Red (the parent ROM) but Zel did make changes with regard to some of the game’s features.

Can You Use Cheats?

As with heavily modified ROM hacks, there will be limitations with regard to the kind of cheat codes a player can use. Players familiar with some of our Pokemon coverage can check out articles about the Pokemon Fire Red hacks to get a better idea of what hacks they can and can’t use.

Cheats to Get You Started

Here are a couple of cheats to get you started with Pokemon Shiny Gold. Once again, some of these can also be found in our older articles related to Pokemon Fire-Red ROM hacks.

Walk through Walls

A Pokemon game, regardless if it’s the original or a ROM hack is never complete without the Walk through Walls cheat. It is undoubtedly one of the most enduring cheats that can be used in nearly every game of the series (at least up until the GBA era).

Master Balls

Master Balls are one of the most important items in a trainer’s bag and this cheat allows you to buy 99 of the said items at a time if used together with the Cheap Items cheat code. There were instances when GBA4iOS froze because I also had Walk through Walls cheat enabled at the same time. It might be different for you but it would be better if you didn’t enable them together so that your game won’t crash.

Rare Candies

I’m actually divided with including Rare Candies cheat since I feel that you really won’t get to enjoy leveling up your Pokemon when you use it. However, if you don’t really mind then make sure that you have this enabled together with the Cheap Items cheat code. As you might have noticed this cheat is similar to the Master Balls cheat mentioned above so you might want to disable Walk through Walls if you have this enabled.

Cheap Items

I was thinking of including the Free Items cheat code but I realized that it would only allow the player to buy one item at a time which can be inconvenient. The Cheap Items code changes the prices of items in the Poke Mart to an extremely affordable 1 Poke Dollar. Use this together with the two item modifier codes above for best results.

Pokemon Encounter Codes

I chose these Pokemon because they’re some of the best that you can find in the game. Take note that their codes can be quite long to input. Once they become a part of your team though, you’ll realize that the time and effort you’ll exert to input their codes on your GBA4iOS will all be worth it.

Once you’ve caught these powerful Pokemon, make sure to use the rare candies on them to raise their levels. Your team should then be able to slug it out against any opponent (whether wild or trained Pokemon) as soon as they’ve learned their special moves.
